3/9/19 Adiyaman to Tunceli

Another full day of driving through amazing country.

We've been through lots of different regions, where they seem to focus on a particular crop - apples, cherries, potatoes.  Today it was apricots and tobacco.  We crossed the foothills of the Euphrates River - I can remember learning about it back in my school days.  And the Tigris is only about 100km away.  Away from the valleys, everything looks so dry and barren.  Going over 2000m passes again.

One of the many dams on the Euphrates.  They're putting in a new bridge and tunnel
We're also in Kurd country.  Lots of police checkpoints surrounded by sandbags and concrete blocks.

We're staying in what looks like a mountain village of Tuncela.  As best we could understand the translation, it sounds like the home of the PKK leader.
