I'm sitting by Lake Ohrid in Macedonia writing this. And here's my view. A fishing boat's just come in.
Well, nothing like riding the thin white line, and that's what we did all day yesterday. On a busy road out of Elbasan. Lots of trucks and cars and climbing. And what made it even more challenging was the road surface. There was a white line along the edge of the road with about a 30cm shoulder, but about 20cm on the road side of the line was a narrow channel 10cm wide where a they must have laid down a cable. A lot of the time the channel was covered and fine, but then it'd be exposed and if you weren't careful, your wheel could fall into it. Adding to this, at times on the shoulder there were drainage holes about 40cm wide and a metre deep, and you didn't want to accidentally ride into them! So full on concentration all day.
