11/7/19 Zadar to Lake Vransko

39km  Total  2008km

We finally got on the road again after our forced stopover in Zadar.  Dermot's rear quick release was broken - as the guy in the bike shop said, well the good news is that noone can't pinch your rear wheel.  But if we got a puncture we were in trouble.  The mechanic in Zadar was awesome and went out of his way to fix it.

While stuck there, we hired a car and went touristing to Krka National Park and then the spectacular Plitvice National Park.  We weren't too wrapped in Krka cos of the hordes of people.

It was raining all night and morning prior to Plitvice so we were fortunate that it kept the crowds away.  A 2.5hr drive to get there, sometimes on the 130kph freeway.
Heading over the mounains via tunnels to Plitvice NP
The drive was well worth it though as the park was stunning.  Spent 4 hours walking the pathways.

Back on the road, we managed to find a quiet route out of Zadar to a really nice campsite at Lake Vrankso.  It's Dermot's birthday and the reception staff drove us into a really nice restaurant at Pakostane to celebrate.
