20/8/19 Cesme and day 1 Selcuk

Great hotel for day 1 in Turkey and a really nice meal along the Cesme Esplanade.  Cesme is a busy holiday town - lots of resorts and beaches and tourists, but it had a nice feel about it.

Next day began our but tripping.  Otogar (big bus) to Izmir - very large coastal port of Turkey - nearly 3 million people!  Then onto a dolmus (minibus) where the only room for Dermot was sitting on a box.  Only a 1 hour ride to Selcuk though.

Chilled out in our hotel in the afternoon - Nazar Hotel.  Beautiful place run by a couple who are so helpful - Selmar and Ilker.  Both are registered tour guides and Ilker is an English teacher so has perfect English.

Caught up with a few of the locals drinking beer in the evening and were treated to an impromptu performance on a baglama.
